Hi Nasir,
I too would be interested in knowing how you guys did the marketing? I hope you guys did not end up posting contacting customers through the forums on SD :p :p
Thanks. |

No actually none of the SD clients were contacted by me except a few select ones who had somehow become personal friends of mine.

Ok. I am in the business of outsourced offshore software development. I would like to get a few more projects for my team. Can you give me some suggestions that would help me get more projects and customers?
Thanks in advance. |

Offshore development like hosting is a very saturated market. Tell me from where are you trying to get your projects? When i worked on this i got most of mine from rentacoder.com. The problem is really getting the first two or three projects once you build up good reputation on such sites it becomes easy, the strategy for the first two/three projects is as follows: First Remember you have no reputation. Think from the client's side. Look for projects from people who have been awarding projects not the ones who are posting the project for the first time or the ones who post many but award only one or two. Now among them look for projects for which you can develop a demo within 24 hours, yes i am right within 24 hours :) Post a bid on such a project, talk about the project not about yourself :) and tell him/her that you can give a demo within 24 hours, if such a person responds to you, you are on your way, most will do because you are giving them a working demo, which gives them the right idea about your abilities.
